Finding some of the best Mofongos at the no-frills Mojito’s Restaurant
By Anita Draycott
What’s a mofongo? Well, it’s a Puerto Rican staple generally made from fried green plantains mashed with broth, garlic, olive oil and bits of bacon or pork cracklings. Usually it’s filled with veggies, chicken or seafood and a spicy stewed sauce. Pair it with a minty mojito. You’ll find some of the best at the no-frills Mojito’s Restaurant (323 Recinto Sur).
