Santorini is the most southern of the Cyclades group of Islands that are located in the Aegean Sea. It is located about 120 miles southeast of Greece and is part of Greece's territory. Santorini is part of Thira administration unit and has 4 uninhabited islands including; Nea Kameni, Palaia Kameni, Aspronisi, and Christiana. 1. Poseidon
This restaurant is located on the famous Black Beach of Kamari Santorini. It is located just 3 kilometers from the Santorini National Airport and is family run. It serves traditional Greek dishes such as tomatokeftes, Fava, and Tomatines as well as modern dishes such as pasta and pizza.
2. Fanari
This restaurant is perched on a Cliffside and boasts the sweeping views of the magnificent Santorini Caldera. Expect to be spoilt with fine dishes such as Greek salad, tomato balls, white eggplant with cheese and basil, and moussaka, chicken lemonato or soutzoukakia, with rice and fried potatoes among others. The wine list at Fanari includes white dry, red dry, rose dry, vinsanto and retsina.
Located on Kamarai Beach, this restaurant features a farmhouse decor that instantly makes its guests feel at home. It is enclosed in a glass house that affords its guests views of the beach. It serves traditional Greek cuisines such as salted cod branded in tomato puree, crispy shrimp in sweet kantaifi sauce and pork mavrodafni with fresh mushrooms etc.
4. Ambrosia
This restaurant sets your table overlooking the western side of Santorini. Guests are treated to the beautiful array of colors that reflect from the sea. The dishes served hear includes; baked-pastries topped with caramelized onions or goat’s cheese with pesto and sometimes the occasional smoked salmon dish.
5. Selene
With endless views of Santorini, this is perhaps the best located restaurant in Santorini. The restaurant is well off the beaten path and serves some of the best Santorini dishes such as crayfish with orzo, Aegean cod with smoked eggplant, pork with orange confi and beef cheeks with buttered pasta.
