Edinburgh Shopping Spree

Edinburgh is fantastic for shopping, combining new designers and old favourites, with quirky vintage stores and premier league department stores. Multrees Walk is a must for designer retail junkies, including Mulberry, Armani, Louis Vuitton and fashion addict Mecca Harvey Nichols.

Try Edinburgh’s fashionable New Town district for favourites such as Belinda Robertson cashmere, Jane Davidson, Joey D and Jenners. Or visit Edinburgh’s Old Town for great vintage shopping, and the charming cobbled William Street or stylish Stockbridge area for some unique boutiques.

34a Raeburn Place
Retail Guru Mary Portas boutique charity shop which opened in November 09. The Edinburgh store is the first of Mary’s nationwide chain of boutique charity shops which aims to persuade shoppers to buy second hand and used designer clothing in preference to mass-produced garments from the likes of Primark, which she claims has had a negative impact on UK shopping habits.

This women’s fashion boutique cherry picks the best Scandinavian designers and other international labels to offer a unique range of clothing to inspire.

13 Cowgatehead
Owned by milliner Fawns Reid, the shop showcases her talents - with everything from dainty headpieces to highwaymen's tricorn hats.

83 The Grassmarket
A legend among Sienna-style vintage queens and stylists up from London, Armstrongs boasts a cornucopia of colourful, mad and fun pieces, packed in from floor to ceiling.

54 Broughton Street
Recycled from vintage clothing and unusual materials, each piece Joey makes is by its nature unique. Created in the stores very own workshop, alterations are available for the perfect fit.

9 West Port
Now housed in bigger premises further up the West Port, Godiva aims to give its customers something different from the high street, focusing on cool and quirky vintage looks, and one-off pieces designed by fashion graduates from the nearby art school.

Thistle Street, Edinburgh
Kilts with a twist, designer Howie Nicolsby uses up to the minute fabrics and designs to modernise the traditional kilt. Howie has dressed Vin Diesel, Samuel L. Jackson, Robbie Williams and Madonna.
