The Philippines is renowned for its beaches and beautiful places, some of which have been visited by entertainers and celebrities from across the globe. One of the most underrated places in the Philippines is Baler. It is filled with pristine white beaches, great surfing spots, and natural wonders that will captivate even seasoned travelers.
Baler is a municipality located in the province of Aurora, about 143 miles northeast of Manila. In March 2013, Yahoo! Southeast Asia named Baler as one of the "top surf spots" in the Philippines. The best way to get to Baler is by bus or car. The trip will take you about six hours. The trip might be long and bumpy, but all your aches and pains will be forgotten once you reach Baler.
If you love to surf the waves, you must head to Cemento Reef, Lindy’s Point, Charlie’s Point, or Sabang Beach. Cemento Reef is where the Aurora Surfing Cup is usually held. Charlie’s Point’s claim to fame other from being a surfing spot is that it was where the movie “Apocalypse Now” was filmed. Aside from its great surfing spots, you must take a dip in one of its beautiful beaches including Borlongan, Lukso-Lukso, Ampere, and Digisit. Want to have a refreshing plunge in a waterfall? Check out the Ditumabo Falls, Cunayan Falls, and Paltic Falls. If you want to explore nature’s wonders, you must visit Lamao Caves, Diguisit Rock Formations, and Banju Springs.
Baler might be a sleepy municipality but it will definitely “wow” you! You must visit Baler while it is still a paradise untouched by excessive tourism development. Consult your travel agent for more details.
