The Bingham is a Georgian townhouse that has magnificent views of the Thames River, and it is often a favorite venue for various events and special weddings as long as travelers who’d want a romantic escapade from the city, including epicures wanting a flavorful culinary experience.
One rule here: if you can't get a room facing the river then go elsewhere… Ours is dreamy - but small. The bathroom is ridiculously tiny. There's also an ugly mirror over what must be the original mantelpiece. And we're disappointed to find those infuriating anti-theft hangers in the cupboard… Dinner is outstanding. Shay Cooper is the bright spark in the kitchen. He has a light touch, opting for freshness over richness. My fish tastes as if it has jumped straight from the river into Cooper's steamer… Creative food such as this does not come cheap - £45 a head for three courses. What I can't get over is the price of wines by the glass. A glass of Sauvignon Blanc comes in at £10.50.
