Opaque in San Francisco. You Gotta Eat Here

Trust the Europeans to come up with something crazy. Imagine dining in the dark...crazy, right? Well, the Europeans think it is cool. Actually, it is the in-thing. Not to be outdone, the Americans have their own version of 'dark dining'. The first such restaurant in the US is called Opaque, and it is to be found in San Francisco. Since the residents of Berlin, Vienna and Paris think it is cool; how about experimenting with the idea?

This is your chance to develop senses such as smell, taste, hearing and touch. This is how it 'goes down': you are welcomed in a lighted lounge, the staff takes your coat and bag, you select your specialty dishes and then are taken down to the pitch dark dining room. Here, you do not need anything else apart from your senses. Special security measures have been taken to ensure your safety.

Not so crazy after all, huh? It is creative though, no? Well, if you have been looking for an experience that is well off the beaten path, this is it. Imagine the look on your dinner date after such an experience...yeah, that is why a meal at Opaque is so worth it.

What to eat; Ahi Tuna Tartare, Wasabi Aioli, Pan Roasted Chicken Breast w/Roasted Spaghetti Squash, Grilled Salmon over Roasted Potatoes, Grilled Beef Tenderloin and many more.
